French Music for All Instruments
This workshop teaches traditional French music that is played for dances throughout France. The main focus will be on music we’ll use to perform for the French dance at Lark Camp, but will also include traditional dance music that is popular in France. The workshop will include French waltzes, bourrees, mazurkas, schottisches, and various other regional dances.
About Scott Gayman
Scott has been restoring, playing, and studying hurdy gurdies for 18 years. He has regular students in southern California and teaches at the only US hurdy gurdy festival in Indiana. He regularly spends time in France studying with master hurdy gurdy players and travels to play at festivals and music events throughout Europe. Scott teaches all levels from early beginner to advanced students. He also offers private time for students that would like to learn in a one-on-one setting.
