Indian Folk Tunes & Ragas
Wade’s classes are open to all instruments and all levels of experience. The classes are spontaneous and participatory, and draw from a rich repertoire of classical and folk melodies. Ragas are slowly unfolded, and the process is narrated in detail. The ensemble presents a raga to the camp late in the week.

About Wade Evans
Wade Evans received his training in the Hindustani Classical Music tradition by Pt. Shivnath Mishra, a master sitarist of the Benaras Gharana lineage, with whom Wade has studied for over 23 years. Wade finds abundant satisfaction and joy in offering a small taste of the majestic beauty of raga – the Indian melodic form – to Lark Campers. Wade’s students are gently coaxed into participating in the improvisational journey, while being offered guidance and insight into how to bring this ancient art form into their own lives.
