Latin Music Ensemble
The Latin ensemble will once again feature Jimmy’s arrangements of classic and popular Latin songs. Latin jazz, salsa, son, and more, all with a danceable feel and plenty of room for improvisation. All instrumentalists and singers (please!) are invited to join in, no matter the level of experience with this exciting style of music. There also will be an opportunity to learn and play percussion instruments as part of the rhythm section. The group will perform a dance set at the Lark Camp closing party on Friday.
About Jimmy Durchslag
Jimmy Durchslag is an accomplished musician, composer and arranger. He has played trombone with numerous ensembles in many genres during the last 48 plus years, including multiple Latin and jazz groups. His current band, The Latin Peppers, frequently performs at festivals and venues on California’s North Coast. Jimmy also directed and arranged the horn section for Rod and the Ideals, for 20 years the house band at the large annual Reggae on the River music festival. He is also President of Bembé Records, an Afro-Cuban music label founded in 1996.
