Old Time & Country Harmony Singing
Frannie will dig deep in the fertile ground of Old Time and Country traditions to come up with good songs that can be sung in harmony. She’ll be team-teaching with Carlo Calabi, and will provide vocal warm-ups, and teach both parts to one or two songs per day. The class is part repertoire and part learning how to find harmonies, and includes lots of singing. Lyrics will be provided, and the songs will be learned by ear.
About Carlo Calabi
Carlo has been playing guitar and learning old time, bluegrass, country, cajun, and cowboy songs since the early sixties. He has regularly taught, or led jams and singing sessions at many camps including Lark Camp, Walker Creek, CBA Grass Valley, California Coast, BACDS American Week, and Folklore Camp. He really enjoys teaching, jamming, and dancing, and has attended nearly all the Larks!
About Frannie Leopold
Frannie has been teaching harmony singing at Lark Camp for more than twenty years. She has also taught at Sweetsmill, Voiceworks, and a lot of campouts. She has performed and recorded with the Todalo Shakers, The Delta Sisters, and the Balkan Kafe Orchestra.
