Scottish Ornamentation and Technique

What makes a tune sound Scottish? Hayden will walk you through articulation, ornamentation, and groove to help you achieve a super Scottish sound. While the class will have some focus on fiddle technique, all melody players that can play comfortably in the keys of D, G, and A are welcome.
About Hayden Stern
Hayden Stern grew up attending Scottish fiddle camps, immersing himself in tradition at an early age. Shortly after arriving in Seattle, he discovered contra dancing, and with it a new community of like-minded LGBTQ musicians and dancers. Quickly emerging as a leader in this community, Stern is now producing events like TransTrad Festival in Olympia, as well as playing for dance events, festivals, and listening rooms across the United States.
